Connections For Life
Loneliness is painfully common in the RAF community. After years of camaraderie in a close-knit community, many find it difficult to adapt to life beyond service, particularly if former comrades pass on and family members move away.
Connecting people, making friends
Connections For Life is the new way that the RAF Association is delivering our welfare services by matching volunteers with beneficiaries. Whether you’re lonely, isolated from friends and family or facing difficult situations alone, Connections For Life works tirelessly to connect those in need to the people and services than can help them the most.
We match caring, friendly volunteers with those experiencing isolation, and actively contact vulnerable members of the RAF community to check on their welfare. Sometimes a chat and a laugh over a cup of tea can make the world of difference.
We’ve always looked out for our own and that will never change. We believe that once you’re part of the RAF community, you’re always part of it. That’s why we’re determined to do all we can to make sure no-one feels lonely, isolated or left behind, especially now with the current government restrictions in place. Connections For Life is a comprehensive service for those in the RAF community who are lonely, isolated or facing difficulties alone. We want to help develop people’s confidence and integrate them back into their community. It’s all about giving people the tools they need to live a rewarding life, full of dignity, companionship, joy and independence.
Are you feeling lonely or isolated? You don’t need to face life on your own. The Connections For Life service is there to offer you a friendly volunteer to talk to.
