Branch WW2 Veteran Members at Remembrance Luncheon 11 November 2018
(L-R Gordon Cottrill, Frank Smith & Leslaw Latawiec)
The RAF Association is a forward looking organisation and a registered charity – with over 63,500 members world-wide – providing friendship and welfare support for serving and ex-serving RAF personnel and their dependents. Over 40,000 individuals are helped each year.
The Huddersfield branch has an enviable record of fundraising for the association, coming up regularly with new ideas to swell the coffers. In recent years members have completed a 70-mile five-day sponsored memorial walk across Yorkshire; run a monthly bric-a-brac/second-hand goods stall at Huddersfield Market; organised a pop-up shop; participated in military-themed events and local carnivals. We like to think that although we are relatively small in number, we certainly punch above our weight!
We would be delighted to welcome volunteers to help us in our fundraising or welfare work at any time. Just come up and talk to us the next time you see us out collecting, or contact our Secretary at the email address shown on the Committee Members drop-down menu for further information.
We hope that, as you read further through the links on our website, you will enthused to join our branch. Our branch has been active for over 70 years now. In this period we have been very lucky in having people prepared to give freely of their time and talents in assisting the RAF family. We are always pleased to accept new members in our branch, particularly former airmen, airwomen and their dependents.
Please remember, you don’t have to have served in the RAF to participate fully in our activities. As long as you share our aims and values, we would be delighted to welcome you as an associate member. Associate members are highly appreciated in our branch, being central to all our activities.
