Remember someone special at the RAF Association Memorial Garden
An update for Take to the Skies memorials relating to coronavirus:
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety of all members, supporters, volunteers and suppliers during this very difficult and unprecedented times, we will not be able to commit to laying any stones or crosses at our Garden of Remembrance in the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) until it is safe to do so.
We have also cancelled our annual memorial service held at the NMA for the year of 2020. We will provide further updates as and when we are able too.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this difficult time, and if you have any further questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The RAF Association Memorial Garden is situated within the beautiful and tranquil Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.
The garden is dedicated to all those who selflessly devoted their lives to their country. No matter how long they served and regardless in what capacity. It is open to everyone, including:
- Serving and ex-serving RAF personnel
- The families of RAF personal
- Anyone who shares the ethos of the RAF
Where memories take to the skies
At the centre of the garden sits a beautiful statue of the RAF Association’s ‘Eagle on the Globe’ emblem. The statue is made from over 1,000 individually crafted feathers and stands three metres high on a black marble plinth.
How to remember a loved one
If you would like to celebrate the life of a person or organisation associated with the RAF, you can place a personalised memorial cross or stone in the garden.
We hold a remembrance service in our memorial garden every year to dedicate the crosses and stones that have been laid during the past 12 months. You will be invited to come and remember your loved one, and with any relatives and friends who would like to be part of the service (a maximum of three guests are permitted, occasionally this can be extended please contact the In Memorial team on email@example.com)
For more information about our Garden of Remembrance and ways you can remember a loved one, you can download our Garden of Remembrance form below. This also includes a memorial cross and small memorial stone order form.
A zephyr grey stone, headed with the RAF Association’s wings emblem and inscribed in stainless steel, can be laid flat in the garden to celebrate or commemorate a group or loved one and act as a lasting tribute.
