Information about our Wings Lotto recruitment activity
Since 2014 there has been a dramatic increase of over 46 per cent demand for our welfare services and it is a real challenge everyday to generate the funds for the RAF Association to meet this growing need.
One of the successful ways that we know works is the Association’s weekly lottery known as Wings Lotto. We need to recruit new players to help to raise funds to meet this growing welfare demand.
With the huge changes in fundraising regulations, the impending changes to the law regarding data protection and the complex legal issues around gambling regulations, you can appreciate that recruiting new players is a specialist job and needs highly trained fundraisers to carry this out.
The RAF Association has contracted a specialist company Lottery Fundraising Solutions (LFS) to undertake a lottery recruitment campaign in the Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire areas.
The Association takes a responsible approach to its fundraising activities and has ensured that LFS are an accredited external lottery manager who is licenced by the Gambling Commission under the 2005 Gambling Act. They adhere to the highest regulatory standards for this type of fundraising.
How will we be recruiting players ?
A team of fundraisers have been recruited to operate in a variety of ways in the areas listed on the following territory maps.
The team will be visiting people in their homes to sign up new players, and we will publish a list of the postcode areas that they will be operating in ahead of the activity taking place, on our website page below. You may also see them in supermarkets, garden centres, shopping centres and other locations using RAF Associations Wings Lotto branded banners and equipment.
The RAF Association does not set sales targets for individual fundraisers to achieve and does not condone high pressure selling to individuals, we only want to recruit new supporters who are happy and motivated to support the RAF Association and the work that we do. We closely monitor feedback and complaints received and use this information to make informed business decisions about our fundraising. We will also be monitoring these activities by mystery shopping and other monitoring programs.
Our fundraisers will never ask you for cash, and if you are willing to support us, will ask you to fill out an application form, which will include your bank details. Your application and personal details are stored securely and are tracked by LFS and RAF Association processes.
As you can imagine as a military charity, data security is very important to the RAF Association so please be assured that by agreeing to play Wings Lotto your details and Direct Debit information is very secure and safe.
Your bank details will be handled securely and will be collected on behalf of the RAF Association by LFS. You will be fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee
Our door-to-door fundraisers will:
