Information about our door-to-door activity
Door-to-door fundraising is an essential part of how the RAF Association plans to engage with new supporters, providing an opportunity for people who we wouldn’t normally have contact with to learn about the welfare work carried out by the Association, and consider a much appreciated regular gift to support our work.
Our door-to-door fundraisers work on our behalf through AGS Global Fundraising Services. AGS is one of the largest and most trusted in the UK, and has co-ordinated door-to-door campaigns for some of the country’s most respected and successful charities raising millions of pounds for charities.
The RAF Association takes a responsible approach to door to door fundraising and only uses companies who are members of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) and adhere to the highest regulatory standards for this type of fundraising. www.pfra.org.uk.
Further the RAF Association does not set sales targets for individual fundraisers to achieve and does not condone high pressure selling to individuals, we only want to recruit new supporters who are happy and motivated to support the RAF Association and the work that we do. We closely monitor feedback and complaints received and use this information to make informed business decisions about this type of fundraising.
Our door-to-door fundraisers will never ask you for cash, and if you are willing to support us will ask you to fill out an electronic application form on an iPad, which will include your bank details. Your application and personal details are safe and are tracked by the AGS processes.
As you can imagine as a military charity, data security is very important to the RAF Association so please be assured that agreeing to give a gift to us by Direct Debit is very secure and safe.
Your bank details will be handled securely and will be collected on behalf of the RAF Association by AGS. You will be fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee
How to recognise our door-to-door fundraisers
Our door-to-door fundraisers will:
- Wear a light blue tabard with The RAF Association logo and wing emblem on it
- Display an ‘Appco Group Support identification badge with their name, photo and ID number
- Carry a letter of authority from the Royal Air Forces Association
- Carry a password protected iPad to process your application.
