Teams of up to 6 participants. £45 registration fee + £100 sponsorship per person (additional £40 if bike hire is required, not necessary if you have your own bike)
Take on the exclusive RAFA Helvellyn Duathlon; a fully guided hike and bike micro event which involves cycling a multi terrain loop of Thirlmere followed by a hike up England’s second highest mountain, Helvellyn! We base ourselves at the north east side of Thirlmere at Legburthwaite, St Johns in the Vale.
This is the only event of its kind. The RAFA duathlon takes you up to incredible heights and challenged to take on a cycle like no other. Along the way our scavenger hunt will give you chance to win some incredible prizes.
Can you pack light? You are responsible for your own rations, warm gear and team – you go up as a team, you come down as a team! Why not combine it with a team camp out in the local camp site, or treat yourself to a local B&B. However you take on this challenge, know you are part of RAFA’s elite!
There are two event dates, Saturday 15 May and Saturday 19 June 2021. This opportunity is not available to anyone else, and numbers are strictly limited; 18 participants split into three teams of six, or smaller if your team needs.
Whilst we absolutely anticipate some friendly rivalry between the teams, please note this is not a competitive individual race! However challenging yourselves to get round quickly and as a team is very much part of the day!
