Donate your time
Not all vital donations to the RAF Association are financial…
Invaluable help not only comes to us via the generous donations of cash we receive, but also from the kind donations of time that people freely give to us. We have huge appreciation for our force of volunteers who, every year, give up their time to help us.
If you can spare a few hours, days, or more – regularly or occasionally – we’d love to hear from you, and there are many ways that you can become involved as a Royal Air Forces Association volunteer.
Types of events you could be helping at:
- Air Shows
- Cheering on our runners at the London Marathon
- County shows such as the Devon County Show
- Music Events and outdoor concerts
If you think you can help us by volunteering, please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
Volunteering at air shows and events
The Wings Appeal team will be visiting air shows and events around the country throughout the year to raise money and awareness of the Wings Appeal. Each event needs around 30 people to staff the exhibition units. The volunteers we need are RAF personnel, air cadets, branch members and members of the public. The day involves everything from making goodie bags to face painting and distributing leaflets.
Wings Appeal collections
Every year our members and volunteers make a real difference by holding Wings Appeal collections in public places, such as supermarkets and high streets, across the country.
Volunteer at the RAF Association Central Headquarters
The RAF Association’s head office is based in Leicester and we are always looking for people to help out, whether it’s preparing for a big air show or liaising with serving personnel.
Cheer on our Fundraisers
Many people raise money for us by running marathons, swimming miles, cycling from Land’s End to John O’ Groats, and undertaking many other challenges that take grit, determination and willpower to complete. You can help us to support our fundraisers on their journeys.
Use your skills
Photography, film-making, repairing cars, personal contacts, great patience, holding coffee mornings, manual skills or even T-shirt printing… if you’ve got a particular skill and some time to give, we would love to hear from you and chat about how you might help us with our varied work.
