Can you give a little of your time?
Time is one of the most valuable resources to all of us. With over 500 branches across the country and overseas reaching a huge number of people in need, the people who help us are key to our success in carrying out our welfare work and providing the friendship, help and support that we provide.
Here are just a few ways that you can help us by giving up a little of your time:
Fundraise for us
There are many ways that you can raise money for us: take part in a Blades Challenge, hold a collection, have a cake sale, bag packing at a supermarket, do something in fancy dress – fundraising ideas can come from anywhere, and it is always more successful if it is fun.
Volunteer at an air show
Air shows are one of the most exciting and successful ways to fundraise. Helping at an air show is a great day out and a great way to help the RAF Association raise awareness and much needed funds.
Most of the air shows we attend need around 30 volunteers to make it a success. We need help to set up our trailer, make up goody bags, sell merchandise, collect donations and to ensure that we are visible in a crowd of thousands of people. It can be a long day, but also a lot of fun engaging with the public and telling people about the work of the charity.
We are visiting several air shows this year – have a look at our events calendar to see if you or your squadron could help us out.
Help at a branch
Many of our branches are made up of older members, but our branch network is an essential way to unite members of the RAF Family past, present and future. Cadets can play a really important role here, and you and your squadron could get involved by helping with Wings Appeal collections, assisting our older members with IT support or even giving talks at meetings in support of your Duke of Edinburgh Award. Why not get in touch and see how you can help?
We’re always looking for volunteers to provide a little help. One of the most effective ways to get involved with the RAF Association is to get your squadron to volunteer as a group.
