The RAF Association was sad to learn of the death of John Valentine, an RAF veteran and a member of Bomber Command during the Second World War.
John was born in Chorley in 1924. He joined the RAF in 1941 and flew operational missions in Lancaster and Wellington bombers. After the war ended, he was posted to RAF Castel Bonito in Libya.
On leaving the RAF, John worked as an accountant for British Leyland until his retirement in 1989. He continued to fly aircraft from Blackpool Airport during his retirement, and was a member of the Blackpool Aircrew Association.
