The Royal Air Forces Association is working with the University of Nottingham to understand the causes of mental health issues in veterans and explore strategies to help protect them from these problems.
We’re encouraging all RAF veterans, regardless of whether you’ve experienced mental health problems yourself, to contribute to our new research project. The findings will be used to help us better serve the RAF family.
If you’d like to take part, all you need to do is complete an online survey about your mental wellbeing and your strategies, if any, for coping in tough times.
What does the survey involve?
The survey should take around half an hour to complete. The questions cover a wide-range of topics, including some sensitive topics (such as whether or not participants have ever had suicidal thoughts).
All your answers will be kept anonymous, and you can skip any questions you find too uncomfortable or upsetting to answer.
Everyone who takes part also has the option to enter a prize draw to win one of sixteen £20 Amazon shopping vouchers. To be eligible to take part, you must:
- Be a veteran from one of the UK’s military services
- Have been deployed on active duty as part of your service
- Be aged 18 or over
