Welcome to The RAF Association (RAFA)

The RAF Association (RAFA) is a membership organisation of serving and former members of the Royal Air Force, their families and dependants and all those supporting the aims of the Association. It is the largest single-service membership organisation in the United Kingdom and has roughly 76,000 members and 500 Branches in the UK, Europe and further afield. The Association provides help and advice, assistance, comradeship and, where required, welfare and care for the whole RAF family, contact RAFA

The Branches of the Association are organised into four UK Areas and one Overseas Area. Each Area has an Council of elected Members, supported by an Area Director and staff. They undertake Welfare, Membership, Fundraising and Branch support for their Area. Our Area sections offer information on Branches, Clubs, Area Newsletters and localised events. More information »

WelfareNeed Help, Advice or Support?

We support the whole Air Force family, providing welfare and care to all serving and former members of The Royal Air Force and their dependants. Our network of Honorary Welfare Officers, supported by Area Welfare Officers and a Welfare Department at CHQ provide support and friendship and, where appropriate, can also ‘signpost’ you to other agencies for assistance. The very first winner of the newly launched RAFA Lift-Off Lotto has been announced. Mrs Renee Wedge, 82, from Southampton, was delighted to receive the £1,000 first prize and said she would split it with her daughter, Rowena.
