With a choice between sea side resorts and glorious countryside, our respite homes are dedicated to supporting the needs of the clients and come highly recommended.
The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund jointly funds the three respite homes.

Flowerdown House is situated on the sea front at Weston-Super-Mare. It is one of the West Country’s most popular resorts and as well as providing respite care, it has the facility to provide a welfare break to a family.

In March 2007, the leasehold of Sussexdown was transferred to Care South, a not for profit charity who manage 19 residential care homes in the South of England together with a substantial Home Care division.
Care South has a proven record in the field and shares with the RAF Association the ethos of delivering quality care. In looking to secure and assured future for Sussexdown, the Association sees this course of action as being in the best interests of the 57 residents.
Our sheltered housing schemes are designed to enable those in good health to lead an independent life, with the knowledge that support form a warden is available if required.
Situated in the beautiful town of Moffat in Dumfriesshire, Dowding House offers single and double flats for those capable of independent living and is supported by a live in warden.

Situated with Rothbury House in Northumberland, the sheltered accommodation is provided in the Malcolm apartments with four two bedroom apartments and the Lord Tedder Court with six one bedroom apartments all supported by the Rothbury House Manager
Situated next to Sussexdown Residential Home, the Sheltered housing at Storrington consists of 32 one bedroom self contained flats with warden support,
Eagle Lodge, Wexford House in Melton Mowbray provides shared housing for single persons or those who have found themselves alone in life. Designed to encourage independence within a family atmosphere and a caring community, all rooms have their own bedsitting rooms with communal lounge and dining room where meals are shared together. Situated on the East coast of Norfolk, the Chalets are extremely well equipped for a maximum of four people with a sitting room, bathroom, two bedrooms and a kitchen area. Members and
all serving and ex-serving personnel in the RAF Family and
their dependants are eligible to go to Hemsby and
take a break.

The holiday home is situated on the Bunn Leisure Site at Selsey, West Sussex. Guests have full use of a wide range of leisure facilities and amenities. The home is a two bedroom (double and single) and can sleep five, it has disabled access. All Members, serving and ex-serving personnel in the RAF Family are eligible to use this facility.

The RAF Association provides free and confidential advice and support to those who may be eligible for a War Pension and the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.

We have a good relationship with many other organisations and Honorary Welfare Officers, RAFA Caseworkers and Area Welfare Officers can signpost individuals encouraging the best possible advice whilst offering support, comradeship and assistance with applications for assistance.
