RAFA Flying Scholarship Winners

This year's winner of the 35 hour Flying Scholarship was James Bown who pipped our four other winners to the post taking the full Scholarship for 2008. James and the other cadets have very kindly shared some of their experiences with the RAF Association (RAFA) about their time spent at various flying schools this year, including video blogs.

James has kindly also written us a short piece about his training at Tayside Aviation and how he James_Bown_Winnerachieved his National Private Pilot Licence (NPPL), view this on his video page.

"Winning the scholarship has given me a fantastic opportunity to achieve one of my lifetime goals to get my pilot's licence, and I am extremely grateful to RAFA for providing me with the chance to do so.

The whole experience has been a steep learning curve but thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding at the same time. Attaining my licence is a big step in my aviation career and when I join the RAF after graduating from university to become a pilot I hope that it will serve me well and hope to keep on flying for many years to come!"
