Great Wings Duck Race
Thousands of colourful plastic ducks will fill the lake at Gulliver’s World, Warrington for a spectacular fundraising event in aid of the Wings Appeal. The Great Wings Duck Race will be held at the theme park on September 19 and plans are already in place for a special celebrity guest to officially start the race. Up to 10,000 red, white and blue ducks are available for sponsorship and a cash prize of £1,000 is up for grabs for the sponsor of the winning duck. Click here for more...
Wings Race Night
Do you want a fun packed evening? Come along to Wolverhampton Racecourse on October 3. You will experience the thrill of horse racing under the floodlights but there will also be the opportunity to take part in a world record attempt led by a well-known celebrity. Henry Allingham (6 June 1896 - 18 July 2009)
RAFA would like to remember Henry Allingham, the last founding member of the RAF, who was an honorary life member of the RAF Association and, at 113-years-old, he was our oldest member. He was also the oldest ever surviving member of any of the British Armed Forces and the oldest surviving veteran of the First World War and the Battle of Jutland. He will be sadly missed. St Clement Danes Brew and Cosford Launch
A special tea party held at the church of the Royal Air Force, St Clement Danes, in central London, raised almost £1,000 for the Wings Appeal. It was attended by RAF veterans, serving personnel of all ages and air cadets from the 291 (Westminster and Chelsea) ATC squadron, who gave invaluable support on the day. Lift-Off Lotto Rollover Winner
RAFA has announced the first winner of the £10,000 rollover second prize in the Lift-Off Lotto. Every week since the lotto was launched in October last year, the £250 second prize has not been won and has rolled over. Under the rules of the competition, this can only happen until the prize total reaches a maximum of £10,000. As the total was reached last month, former Warrant Officer, Peter Lloyd from Caister-on-Sea, was selected as the winner. Click here for more... 
RAFA Shoreham Air Show - August 22nd & 23rd
This weekend will see the 20th anniversary of the RAFA Shoreham Airshow which will include some extra special surprises as well as fun for all the family. Don Bean, the air show organiser, said: “This is a very important year as we celebrate twenty years of this now very popular event. RAFA Remembrance Garden Opening
Tickets are still available for the unveiling of the RAFA Remembrance Garden at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire on September 28th. The garden will be a lasting tribute to those members of the RAF past and present and HRH The Princess Royal is due to unveil the memorial on the day.
