RAFA Membership

Types of Membership

The Association offers two types of Membership:

Ordinary Membership - For those serving or who have served in the RAF.
Associate Membership - For family and friends who wish to support the Association.

Join The Association

Join The RAF Association by completing the downloadable Membership Application Form and Direct Debit form and post it to us, alternatively click on the link to complete our Online Membership Form and become a member straight away (ordinary membership only*).

One Year membership Fees:

We strongly urge you to sign a Direct Debit Mandate for your Membership renewal. It will save you work and significantly reduce administration costs for RAFA. Please tick the box on the Membership Application Form or contact us for more details.

If you are a UK tax payer please complete the Gift Aid declaration which enables the Association to claim a further 28% from the government. If every member did this RAFA would earn an extra £120,000 each year at no cost to our members.

* We are only able to accept Ordinary Membership applications via our online service due to the need for Associate Members to be proposed and seconded by two ordinary or Life Members of the RAF Association. Please contact us if you have any queries about this. 

Retired Service Card:

The RAF Retired Service Card (RSC) is a photo ID card which is available to our members as a form of identity and confirmation that they served in the Royal Air Force.

It is particularly useful in the USA where Veterans are revered. Substantial discounts on products and services may be obtained on production of the RSC. In the UK discounts are available through the Defence Discount Directory

Apply for a Retired Service Card by completing the relevant section on the Membership Application Form. For for existing members please download and complete the form below.

(You are able to edit this on the screen, print, sign and then send back by post).

You will need to make a one off payment of £11.00. New RSCs are only available to One Year Ordinary members who nominate to renew their membership by Direct Debit or to Four Year Ordinary members.

What the RAF Association Can Do For You

• Nurture and develop comradeship between serving and ex-serving RAF personnel. Bring together the entire RAF family from Air Cadets to World War II Veterans.
• Provides Welfare support, advice and care to you and your dependants if in need. Illness or injury can hit at any time and the support and care from a friendly voice is always at hand. Click here for more information on our Welfare support.
• Provides disability and War Pensions advice.
• Provides a network of RAF contacts when you relocate or leave the service.
  
• Provide you with an RAF Retired Service Card which will enable you to prove your RAF credentials.
• Publishes a quarterly magazine, Air Mail, which will keep you up to date with developments in The RAF Association.
• Provides access to RAF-Comrade-Contact, a website designed purely to focus on opening up communication channels for serving and ex-serving RAF personnel. This user-friendly website has numerous features to benefity the entire RAF family.
• Allows you to continue to participate in RAF sports.
