Win a Flight with the Blades! Text WINGS to 70007
The RAF Association has teamed up with The Blades aerobatic display team to help raise funds for the Wings Appeal with it's third fantastic competition.
Throughout 2010, The Blades performed their jaw-dropping displays at airshows across the UK, proudly displaying the RAF Association and Wings Appeal livery.
Made up of former Red Arrows pilots, The Blades have flown over 300 displays in front of more than 18 million people over the last three years and reached hundreds of millions of people through the media.
So, if you fancy flying by the seat of your pants, you can now enter the competition by texting the word WINGS to 70007. This will give one entry into the draw for a flight in a Blades aerobatic aircraft.
Your support will cost £1 per text, plus your standard network message charge, with an average of 88p from each donation going to the RAF Association, depending on your network operator.

Our previous competition winner !
The first SMS text competition to win a flight with the Blades was drawn on 20th October, 2010 and the lucky winner was Sarah Clark from Rustington, West Sussex.
Sarah attended the Bournemouth Air Show in August and watched the air display from the beach along with her family. Having seen The Blades display, Sarah decided to text to see if she could win a flight with them.
She was delighted with the news that she had won the competition, but has decided to give the prize to her husband, Peter - a Monarch captain who flies the A320. She said:
“My husband is over the moon and really looking forward to his flight, he's fed up with having to fly straight and level with autopilot engaged all the time!”
Sarah's Blades flight will take place early next year at The Blades’ HQ at Sywell Aerodrome, just outside Northampton. Included in her day will be an opportunity to fly a helicopter and have a front row seat as The Blades perform a private air display for their guests – the perfect way to end a perfect day!
