Aviation fans from all over the world will flock to Lincolnshire again this year for the Royal Air Forces’s largest air show.
The RAF Waddington International Air Show will take place from 30 June - 1 July.
More than 140,000 visitors will enjoy the two-day extravaganza which will take place at the RAF’s home of surveillance and reconnaissance just outside the historic cathedral city of Lincoln.
This year, the air show celebrates the year of Lincolnshire Aviation, 100 years of the Central Flying School and ISTAR capability of the Royal Air Force.
As the largest of all RAF air shows, it offers a truly unforgettable day's entertainment for the whole family.
The main purpose of the show is to increase public awareness and understanding of the RAF and its role today - and to stimulate recruiting.
All profits are donated to RAF and local charities – including the RAF Association.
Last year, the event raised £50,000 for the charity and the event has raised over £2.7M for charitable causes since its inaugural year in 1995.
The RAF Association’s Fundraising Director, Michael Bolton, said: “The RAF Association is delighted to announce its biggest presence yet at the Waddington International Airshow. Four marquees supported by a bespoke exhibition vehicle will be sited in the military area where visitors can buy Red Arrows, RAF, Blades and RAF Association merchandise and see for themselves the kind of work that the charity does to support the entire RAF Family.”
This year, the show’s seven-hour flying display will features the Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, The Blades aerobatic display team, the RAF Falcons freefall parachute team and many more military and civilian aircraft from the UK and around the world.
Latest additions include the national display team of the Royal Saudi Air Force, the Saudi Hawks and the Italian Air Force with their fantastic display team Frecce Tricolori.
The air show will have a truly international flavour with participation already confirmed from air forces from all over the world.
