Three of the top players from the Northampton Saints swapped rugby boots and scrums for flying suits and wings when they went on a formation aerobatic flight with The Blades Aerobatic Display Team.
England rugby star, Ben Foden was joined by Saints teammates George Pisi and Alex Waller for the experience of a lifetime as they took off for a close formation flight with the team.
The trio of sportsmen earned their flights after being named the 2012 season award winners taking the titles for ‘Try of the Year’, ‘Player’s Player’ and ‘Young Player of the Year’ respectively.
They were joined by lucky charity auction winner Hannah Ayres who bid £2500 for the chance to fly alongside the players with The Blades.
The money raised was split between the Northampton Saints Academy and The Blades’ partner, The Royal Air Forces Association’s Wings Appeal.
