Gp Capt (Ret'd) Bill Mahon has been appointed as the new Director of the RAF Familes Federation. Bill will join on 20th August 2012, taking over from Dawn McCafferty.
He left the RAF earlier this year, having served in a wide variety of posts on units, at RAF Command HQ, MoD Central Staff and, more latterly, in Defence Equipment & Support, in a career lasting more than 30 years. Bill is married with two grown up children.
Bill said: "I am very much looking forward to my new role and to helping give voice to the views and welfare concerns of RAF personnel and their families."
The RAF Families Federation is parented by the RAF Association. It represents the views and concerns of RAF personnel and their family members on the issues that affect them as part of a RAF family. Whether the Family member is in uniform, a spouse, a partner, a parent, a child or a sibling of a member of the RAF, the FF is here to act on their behalf.
As an independent organisation, the FF operates entirely outside the RAF chain of command promising an independent and confidential service.
